Quick Start
Before you can use the trinamiX Guide, make sure that you have signed up and activated your license.
Step 1: Login to your account
Log in with the same e-mail address or provider you used to create your account. Please note that “BASF SSO” is exclusively for trinamiX and BASF employees.
After entering your credentials and clicking “Login”, you will receive an email with a verification code valid for 10 minutes. Enter this code in the designated field and click ‘Continue’ to confirm your identity and access your account.

Step 2: Connect your spectrometer
After you have logged in, you will have to connect the app to your spectrometer. Start by switching on the spectrometer, then tap on “Search spectrometer” in the app. Select your spectrometer from the list to establish the connection. After a successful connection, you can view the spectrometer details and set it as your “Default spectrometer” to speed up the connection process for future use.

Step 3: Calibrate your spectrometer
To calibrate your spectrometer, click the green “Calibrate” button in the device sheet to begin. You will need to perform an open port scan and a reference scan. Please follow the on-screen instructions and animations closely for a smooth calibration process.

Step 4: Ready to measure
Once your spectrometer is successfully calibrated, you are ready to take your first measurement. Select the application that corresponds to your sample, enter your sample details and then follow the measurement instructions in the app for best results.

App Settings
Access the settings menu by clicking the gear icon in your app’s navigation. Here you will find the following options:
In the app, there are two main operating modes:
Analysis Mode
By default, the analysis mode is selected, allowing you to choose applications for measurement. This mode is typically used for material analysis and provides instant results.
Data Collection Mode
In contrast, the data collection mode focuses solely on measurement campaigns, allowing you to gather data for application development.

After selecting your application, you will be asked whether you want to be asked to set your selected application as standard application. If you agree, the application selection step will be automatically skipped next time, allowing you to go directly into the measurement process.
This is particularly useful if you frequently measure within the same application. If you prefer not to receive this notification, you can disable it in the settings.

By default, you will receive a reminder every 60 minutes to recalibrate your spectrometer. You can disable this reminder in the settings. However, for optimal results, we recommend keeping it enabled and recalibrating regularly.

Here you can customize if your privacy settings. The Guide App indicated which are mandatory and which are optional.

Here you can find information regarding your account. You also have the option to delete your account.

FAQs
If your spectrometer calibration fails repeatedly, please check that both the sensor and reference standard are clean. During the open port scan (Step 1), make sure there are no objects within a 50 cm range. For the reference scan (Step 2), ensure the reference standard is in direct contact with the scan window and remains stationary. If you continue to experience issues, consider replacing the reference standard.
Ensure that you are connected to the internet. Also, verify that your device’s BluetoothTM connection is not restricted by company security measures.
If you meet these requirements and still encounter issues after restarting both your device and the spectrometer, please contact our customer support for assistance.
The login process uses a web browser for authentication. Please ensure you have one of the following browsers installed: Brave, Chrome, Ecosia, Firefox, Kiwi, or Microsoft Edge.
If the app continues to crash, please contact our customer support for assistance.
Most disconnections are caused by poor BluetoothTM connection quality, often due to interference from other wireless devices. To enhance stability, try turning off or moving away from other devices, and minimize the distance between your device and the spectrometer. Alternatively, you can connect the spectrometer via USB.
If connection issues persist, please contact our customer support for further assistance.

Yes, you can use the app offline. You can take measurements without being connected to the internet, but the results will be calculated in the cloud, so an internet connection is required to view them. All offline measurements will be cached and calculated once you are back online.
