How to get
trinamiX PAL Two
ready for measuring
in 5 easy steps!

Step 1

Activate your License

You will receive a personal invitation email from our support team. Claim your license by simply clicking on the „activate“ button in the email. You will then be prompted to sign up your account.

 

Step 2

Download the app and connect the spectrometer

After downloading, log in with your credentials. Then switch on your spectrometer. Open the app and go to the scan section. Search for available spectrometers and select it from the list.

Step 3

Calibrating the spectrometer

To ensure optimum results you need to calibrate your spectrometer. Click „Calibrate“ in the device settings and follow the guided process in the app.

 

Step 4

Performing a measurement

After successfully calibrating your spectrometer, you can start with your first measurement. Select the application according to your sample type, enter a sample ID and follow the instructions in the app.

Analysing the measurement data

In the trinamiX Customer Portal you can manage your measurements, create reports and export your data to share with others.

Answers to your questions

  • How scratch resistant is the scan window?

    The scan window is made of sapphire and thus quite scratch resistant with Moh’s1 hardness of 9. For comparison: a diamond has a Moh hardness of 10, steel of 4.5.
  • How scratch resistant is the screen on top of the spectrometer?

    You can compare the scratch resistance with the screen of your mobile phone.
  • How long is the battery lifetime?

    The battery of trinamiX PAL Two runs about 3.000 scans, before it has to be recharged.
  • How long is the Lamp Module lifetime?

    PAL Two has 12 Tungsten halogen lamps with a lifetime of about 500.000 scans.
  • How long does it take to fully charge the battery again?

    To recharge the battery from 0% to 95% takes approx. 3 hours.
  • Is trinamiX PAL Two moisture and dust resistant?

    Yes, it complies with the product class IP65 and are therefore classified as protected against dust and water jets.
  • How robust are the devices?

    The trinamiX PAL Two is engineered for heavy-duty use both indoors and outdoors. While PAL Two can withstand minor shocks, it is not designed to be dropped from significant heights. A drop from a table may be tolerated, but we cannot guarantee full operability afterward. If you notice any damage to your device, our customer support team is ready to assist you.
  • Do I still need my mobile?

    Yes, PAL Two needs to be connected via Bluetooth to your mobile device to be connected to the cloud. This also enables you to collect data and analyse data in our Customer Portal.
  • Do I need an internet connection to operate trinamiX PAL Two?

    You can measure when being offline, but the results are calculated in the cloud, so you need to get internet connection to see the measurement results.
  • How to clean the trinamiX PAL Two?

    Clean the spectrometer with a brush or cloth. Clean the scan window with a lint-free lab cloth with some soda all-purpose cleaning agent. Always take care that the scan window is free from dust, dirt, scratches, fingerprints, or other contaminants after cleaning, to ensure optimal measurement results. The device housing is sensitive to acids and bases. Avoid contact with them and clean the device in case of contact.
