What do Frankenstein and cyber crime have in common? They both create new, synthetic identities.

February 10, 2022

It was at the beginning of the 19th century, when fictitious Frankenstein created a human-like monster in his laboratory. 200 years later, criminals use AI to virtually mix different facial characteristics into a fake identity. Once that identity is used to deceive face authentication systems, it’s called ‘Frankenstein fraud’.

trinamiX 3D Imaging Blog: Biometric Face Authentication frankenstein fraud

At trinamiX we’re dedicated to prevent these fraud attempts: by providing a face authentication solution that can tell skin and other materials apart. We want your smartphone to be able to tell whether the person in front of the camera is actually you – or a modern-day Frankenstein.

By the way: Our face authentication solution has officially proven that it can tell the difference: Click here for the press release
